OUR IMPACT

Still Kickin started in 2015 when our founders teamed up to provide unrestricted financial grants to good people going through hard things. In the beginning, we were able to provide one grant per month through sales of the original Still Kickin t-shirt.

Today, Still Kickin builds empathy, encouragement and economic relief for people in need. Our nonprofit organization is funded by outside grants and community donations.

OUR Grants

Our nonprofit organization's unrestricted financial grants provide direct economic relief for people who are going through challenging times. Our capacity to give has grown year-over-year in dollar amount, and in recent years our nonprofit has added smaller, on-demand grants for more immediate and urgent needs as they’re brought to our attention.

Our monthly Hero grant has grown year-over-year in dollar amount, and in recent years our nonprofit has added smaller, on-demand grants for more immediate and urgent needs as they’re brought to our attention.

Our nonprofit organization's monthly grants have increased five-fold in dollar amount since 2015.

Year 1 = $1,000 Per grant

Year 5 = $6,500 Each month

Since 2015, the nonprofit has given away more than

$281,000

in monthly Hero and micro grants

As of December 2020, Still Kickin has helped

144

individuals, families and other nonprofits doing important work in their communities.

In addition, this year we also completed a coat drive for folks living in North Minneapolis. This mutual aid effort was able to provide:

1,000 coats

500 sets of gloves

700 hats

400 pairs of snow pants

to our neighbors in need.

Our nonprofit's grant recipients are awesome people going through awful things. Learn more about all of our previous Hero grant recipients here.

OUR E-COURSES

Still Kickin's self-paced e-courses are designed to build empathy and encouragement and help people move forward in their lives. We have courses to help individuals work through their grief, let go of their resentments and shoulds, and support others dealing with loss, with additional coursework currently in development.

OUR Events

Our events offer unique ways for the Still Kickin community to show up and support each other. Whether online or in real life, we provide a space for people to be their authentic, vulnerable selves and talk about how they are really feeling — because the answer isn’t always just “fine.’

IRL RETREATS

Since 2019, we’ve put on three in-person weekend retreats, which have:

- brought together approximately 250 people from across the United States (and Canada!)

- provided more than 20 scholarships to individuals who wouldn’t otherwise wouldn’t have been able to afford the trip

In 2020 we weren't able to hold any of our planned in-person events. But we were able to pivot to digital events and continue to have an impact on the community we care so much about.

THE HOT YOUNG WIDOWS CLUB

Our Hot Young Widows Club digital community, created in 2015 by Nora McInerny and Moe Richardson, is a protected space for people who have lost their person to gather and support each other as they move forward with their grief.

OUR merchandise

Our expansive line of merchandise began in 2015 with the original green Still Kickin t-shirt. We’ve since collaborated with incredible creators and makers to design speciality shirts and collections that align with our values and support people going through difficult things. In addition, we created ourJoyful Kid and Better Than Dying collections to honor people we’ve lost.
